Accessibility
Last updated: April 16, 2026
I want every guest to be able to use the wedding websites I build, whether they're tech-savvy or not, and regardless of ability. Accessibility isn't an afterthought here. It's part of how I build.
Standards
I aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines across all websites I build, including this marketing site and every client wedding website. This includes:
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy and landmark elements
- Sufficient colour contrast for all text and interactive elements
- Full keyboard navigation support
- Descriptive alt text for all images
- Clear, readable fonts at appropriate sizes
- Large tap targets for mobile users
- Form labels and error messages that are clear and helpful
- No content that relies solely on colour to convey meaning
Why This Matters
Wedding websites are used by everyone: young and old, with varying comfort levels with technology, and with different abilities. A guest shouldn't struggle to RSVP because a button is too small, text is too faint, or a screen reader can't parse the page. I build with this in mind from the start.
Ongoing Effort
Accessibility is a continuous process, not a one-time checklist. I regularly review and test the websites I build. If you encounter any accessibility issues on this site or on a wedding website I've built, please let me know so I can fix it.
